Hey there, fellow angler! Ready to chase some seriously big fish off the New Hampshire coast? Our 12-hour deep sea bottom fishing trip is the real deal. We're talking monster haddock, hard-fighting pollock, and maybe even a trophy cod if you're lucky. This isn't your average day on the water – it's an all-out fishing marathon where you'll be hauling in fish after fish until your arms are ready to fall off (in the best way possible).
We'll be shoving off at the crack of dawn – 5 AM sharp. Trust me, you'll want every minute out there once we hit the fishing grounds. Our crew knows these waters like the back of their hand, and we'll be heading straight for the honey holes where the big ones lurk. We're talking deep drop-offs, underwater structures, and secret spots that consistently produce. You'll be using heavy-duty bottom rigs and fresh bait to entice those bottom-dwellers. And when you hook up? Get ready for a workout. These deep-water fish fight hard, so it's all hands on deck when someone yells "Fish on!"
Bottom fishing is all about precision and patience. We'll be using sturdy conventional rods paired with powerful reels spooled with heavy line. You'll learn how to read the fish finder, feel for bites through hundreds of feet of water, and master the art of setting the hook at just the right moment. We provide all the tackle, but if you've got a favorite bottom fishing setup, feel free to bring it along. Pro tip: pack some fingerless gloves. Your hands will thank you after hauling in fish all day long.
"Thanks Captain, we all had a great time." - ANDY
"Another great trip on the Tontini. They always put you on the fish and aren't afraid to move to keep the fish coming in the boat. Everyone in my party went home with heavy bag of fillets. Love these guys and worth every penny. My buddies and I can't wait to go again in October. See you soon" - Kevin
Haddock: These cousins of cod are the prize catch for many NH anglers. They put up a great fight and make for some of the best fish and chips you'll ever taste. We typically find them in depths of 150 to 300 feet. They love hanging around rocky bottoms and will eagerly hit cut bait or clams. The average size is 2-5 pounds, but 10+ pounders aren't unheard of!
Pollock: Often overlooked, pollock are one of my favorite fish to target. They school up in huge numbers and when you find them, it's non-stop action. These aggressive feeders will hit just about anything – jigs, bait, you name it. They average 5-15 pounds but can get much bigger. The fight is incredible, with powerful runs that'll have your drag screaming.
Cod: The classic New England bottom fish. While regulations have tightened in recent years, we still get into some good-sized cod on our trips. They're renowned for their flaky white meat and make for excellent eating. Cod love structure and we target them around wrecks and rocky areas. When you hook a big one (20+ pounds), you'll know it – they have serious pulling power.
Cusk: These deep-water dwellers are the dark horse of bottom fishing. They're not the prettiest fish in the sea, but man, do they taste good. Cusk tend to hang in the really deep spots (300+ feet) and put up a stubborn, dogged fight. Landing a big one is always cause for celebration on board.
Look, I've been running these trips for years, and there's a reason we have so many repeat customers. It's not just about the fish (though there are plenty of those). It's about the whole experience. The sunrise over the Atlantic as we cruise out. The camaraderie that develops over a long day on the water. The rush when someone hooks into "the big one" and everyone crowds around to see what comes up. And let's not forget – you're going home with a cooler full of some of the freshest, tastiest fish you can get your hands on. Whether you're a seasoned pro or it's your first time dropping a line, our crew will make sure you have a blast and put you on the fish.
Alright, let's cut to the chase. Our boat only takes 10 anglers per trip, and spots fill up fast – especially during peak season. If you're itching to get out there and experience some world-class bottom fishing, don't wait. Round up your fishing buddies, pick a date, and let's make it happen. Trust me, once you feel that first big haddock or pollock on the line, you'll be hooked (pun absolutely intended). So what are you waiting for? Grab your spot now and get ready for a day of fishing you won't soon forget. The big ones are out there – let's go catch 'em!
